Description: Lipedema is a chronic and often misdiagnosed condition that primarily affects an estimated 1 in 9 women, causing painful fat accumulation, swelling, and mobility issues. Despite its prevalence, it is frequently mistaken for lymphedema or obesity—leading to delayed diagnosis, inadequate treatment, and limited insurance coverage. This presentation will explore the key differences and similarities between lipedema and lymphedema, highlight the challenges individuals face in accessing care, and offer practical strategies for managing the condition. Through a combination of clinical insights and lived experience, we aim to raise awareness, foster understanding, and advocate for improved recognition and support. Join us to learn more about this misunderstood condition—and why it matters now more than ever. ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:
